Full Notification

This is to notify all residence that there has been various sightings of black bear within the village limits. It appears there may be mother and two cubs. CHPD has received a few calls, including this morning that the bear was seen in the area of The Parkway. CHPD last saw one of the bears crossing NYS Rt 13 headed toward Stewart Park.

Bears will generally avoid contact. If you see the bears, DO NOT approach - mother bears are very protective of their cubs. In order NOT to attacked the bears secure your trash/garbage receptacles and any other potential food source.
