Advisory

Planned Protest City of Howell

The City of Howell was recently made aware that while the planned protests have been either canceled or delayed, the potential for gatherings in the area by various organizations is likely to take place Thursday, June 4, 2020 starting around 10 am.

Due to national and social media issues, as well as through an abundance of caution, several City and County facilities will be closing early Thursday.

To help the various Law Enforcement Agencies maintain safety, we would ask that businesses throughout the area consider altering their hours and closing early as well. We also ask that residents who do not plan on attending any of these gathering stay away from the area of the County Courthouse located at State Street and Grand River starting around 3 pm.

The Howell Police Department along with other County, State and Federal agencies have been working together to ensure the safety of our community and those who wish to conduct peaceful protests.
