Your Favorite East Windsor Restaurants for Pickup and Delivery

East Windsor To Go! - Social Media CONTEST #2 for Week Ends Tomorrow June 7

By supporting the East Windsor To Go program of ordering great food from our community restaurants, residents can win valuable gift cards from Barnes and Noble by sending us photos of what you ordered for pickup or delivery. For this Contest, we are asking residents to get their elementary aged children, grades K thru 5, to show us what their favorite take-out or delivery food is from their local East Windsor restaurant. The best selection that includes the hashtags #EastWindsorEats and #EastWindsorKidsChoice is eligible to win. Is it pizza? Is it chicken wings? Burgers? Or takeout from all the great selections of regional world cuisines available in East Windsor? Whatever it is, it's going to be the #EastWindsorKidsChoice!

To participate, fill out the form below and upload a picture of where you've shared your East Windsor To Go food order on social media with the hashtags #EWToGOisGreat and #EastWindsorEats. Selections will be made for the best social media posts for East Windsor To Go and the winners will be notified by e-mail on how to receive the Barnes and Noble gift cards. All East Windsor residents can participate! Submissions are accepted through Sunday, June 7.

To participate, upload your East Windsor To Go! picture submission: https://www.east-windsor.nj.us/East-Windsor-To-Go

Remember "EAST WINDSOR TO GO". The "East Windsor To Go" program list on the Township website shows all of the food establishments that are open for food delivery or contactless pickup at their locations. The list also identifies those that sell gift cards for purchase either online or as part of a pickup order. They make great gifts and help better ensure these businesses will continue to thrive in our community and still be here for us in the future.

It is important that everyone continue practicing social distancing, following the advice and directives of health care professionals and government officials, and using good sense, so we can all get through this difficult period together. We need to remember that the most effective and most caring responsible thing we can continue to do for ourselves, our loved ones and our entire community is to continue to do what we are doing.

If you are concerned about your mental health or the mental health of a loved one during the current crisis, NJMentalHealthCares is available 7 days a week from 8 A.M. to 8 P.M. at (866) 202-HELP (4357).

EAST WINDSOR TOWNSHIP UPDATES:

The Township Community Garden, located in the Disbrow Hill Park across from Etra Lake Park, is opening to registered gardeners, effective Wednesday, June 10, 7 A.M.

STATE OF NEW JERSEY UPDATES:

Governor Murphy signed Executive Order No. 151 on June 4 extending the Public Health Emergency that was declared on March 9, 2020 through Executive Order No. 103, extended on April 7, 2020 through Executive Order No. 119, and extended again on May 6, 2020 through Executive Order No. 138. Under the Emergency Health Powers Act, a declared public health emergency expires after 30 days unless renewed. Previously issued Executive Orders are available online: https://nj.gov/infobank/eo/056murphy/approved/eo_archive.html

The State announced on June 5 that the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) will begin a phased reopening of MVC facilities to the public, with public health safeguards and additional operational efficiencies. MVC workspaces have been extensively overhauled during the COVID-19 closure to add Plexiglas barriers and other social distancing measures, and employees and customers entering MVC facilities will be required to wear a face covering. Transactions that can be done online will not be available in person at this time.

In order to limit crowds and speed services during the phased reopening, some agencies have been designated as Licensing Centers and some as Vehicle Centers. Lists of Licensing Centers and Vehicle Centers, as well as information on transactions, are available online www.NJMVC.gov

The following drop-off and pick-up transactions will be processed starting June 15:

At designated Licensing Centers, MVC will be processing and validating permits from driving schools and high schools on a drop-off basis.

At designated Vehicle Centers, MVC will be processing registration and title work from dealers. License plates can also be surrendered by drop-off at these agencies in a designated area.

MVC will also be processing registration/title transfers for private sales by a new combination online and mail-in procedure.

Road tests and the issuing of new licenses and permits are tentatively expected to start on June 29 (subject to change), with some additional transactions like out-of-state transfers and private sales registrations, but still on a limited basis to prevent crowding. Those whose road tests were canceled during the shut-down will be contacted by MVC and provided a secure link to get the first appointments.

At designated Licensing Centers starting June 29 (tentative), MVC will be processing new licenses and permits, out-of-state transfers, and REAL ID for those whose appointments were canceled. At designated Vehicle Centers starting June 29 (tentative), MVC will be adding individual registration and title transactions.

Transactions that can be done online will not be available in person at this time. MVC customers should continue to go online at www.NJMVC.gov to renew or replace licenses, renew or replace registrations, or change their address. Customers can also contact MVC by email for help with a suspension.
