As our Business Community starts to open up we find it necessary to issue the following statement.  Please understand that many of our retail businesses and restaurants have not been able to be open fully for the past 6-8 weeks and have already suffered financial hardship.  While we look forward to having a great season in Beach Haven, it is imperative that our guests and patrons of these establishments do everything in their power to keep them open.  That includes following CDC guidelines whenever they utilize these businesses.  Listed below are CDC guidelines which we are asking you to adhere to:

• Limit close contact with others and maintain a distance of at least 6 feet, when possible.
• CDC recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain
• We encourage customers to use touchless payment options, when available.
• When ordering from a take out window or paying for services you must wear a mask in order to protect not only yourself but the person helping you! (Many businesses have online ordering available for takeout and purchases, check their social media or websites)
• Practice proper hand hygiene. This is an important infection control measure! (use sanitizer or wash your hands)

 
Our business community have instituted all of the recommended safeguards in order to keep our employees and patrons safe.  If they are impacted by an employee testing positive, they have no choice but to close their doors for an extended period of time until cleared by the Health Department which will negatively impact not only them but our community.  Please understand that we are also trying to protect all of our Municipal employees as well including our Beach Badge Checkers, Lifeguards, Public Works, and other Essential Personnel.
