Five Injured in Crash and Home Damaged

Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that on 06/08/2020 at 1315 Hours his office was called to investigate a personal injury crash that occurred on Thomson and Dick St in Howard Township, Cass County Michigan. Juan Villafana, 17 yr old, Niles resident, was east bound on Thomson RD when he lost control of his vehicle and ran off the road and drove into a residence. Mr. Villafana had minor injuries. The homeowner Carolyn Holloway, 59 yr old, was standing outside the house when the vehicle traveled into her home. Because of the crash, Mr. Villafana was transported to Lakeland Niles Hospital for his injuries. In Mr. Villafana’s vehicle, four other juveniles with him had minor injuries and then were transported by EMS to Lakeland ER. No drug or alcohol were suspected to be contributing factors to this crash. This incident is still under investigation. Seatbelts were worn in this crash.
