STATE OF NEW JERSEY UPDATES:

Governor Murphy today, June 9, announced the immediate lifting of the New Jersey "Stay at Home" Order and raised the existing limits on indoor and outdoor gatherings.

The limit on the number of people allowed to gather INDOORS has been increased effective immediately from 10 to 25 percent of the building's capacity or 50 people, whichever is lower. This includes religious services but not indoor dining. Indoor entertainment venues (casinos, movie theaters, concert halls, performing arts centers, and comedy clubs) remain closed.

The limit on the number of people allowed to gather OUTDOORS  has been increased effective immediately from 25 to 100 people, and the Governor announced the limit is expected to increase to 250 people on June 22 and 500 people on July 3.

All attendees must still wear face coverings and stay six feet from each other.

Nail salons will be allowed to reopen on June 22, the same day hair salons and barbershops may reopen.

Governor Murphy announced on June 8, that Public and Private Pools are permitted to open to the public beginning June 22, subject to compliance with New Jersey Department of Health, health and safety guidelines.

The New Jersey Department of Health on June 8, issued health and safety guidelines for Summer Youth Camps following Governor Murphy’s Executive Order No. 149 allowing the resumption of childcare services, youth day camps and organized sports operations beginning July 6.  The guidelines provide procedures for camp operators to implement health and safety standards for staff and campers such as screening, hygiene, social distancing and staff/camper ratios.  Youth summer day camps will be permitted to operate provided they develop and implement a COVID Operational Plan that meets the requirements of Executive Order 149 and the guidelines. All summer youth camps are required to submit the Youth Camp Attestation Form to the Department of Health no later than 24 hours prior to the opening date.   Youth camps are licensed by the New Jersey Health Department, and applications must be completed and submitted at least 14 days prior to the start date of activities.

Under the guidelines, cloth face coverings for staff and campers shall be worn when social distancing of 6 feet between assigned groups cannot be maintained. Staff are also encouraged to wear cloth masks while working unless doing so would inhibit the individual’s health; the individual is in extreme heat outdoors; or the individual is in water. Cloth face coverings should not be put on children under age two because of the danger of suffocation.  Daily health screening for COVID-19 will be put in place at entry for campers and staff. Both indoor and outdoor camps should ensure, to the maximum extent possible, that groups include the same children each day and that the same staff remain with the same group each day. Mixing between groups should be restricted. Residential and overnight camps are not permitted. In addition, off-site activities, field trips, contact sports and inter-group competitions are prohibited.

It is important that everyone continue practicing social distancing, following the advice and directives of health care professionals and government officials, and using good sense, so we can all get through this difficult period together. We need to remember that the most effective and most caring responsible thing we can continue to do for ourselves, our loved ones and our entire community is to continue to do what we are doing.
