VICTIM FATALLY STABBED IN ESCONDIDO

On 06-09-20 at approximately 7:54 p.m., the Escondido Communications Center received a call of a male victim seen lying down in the alley of the 500 block of W. 7th Ave in Escondido. One caller reported that it appeared that the victim had been beaten and a second caller reported that they appeared to be deceased. Officers arrived on scene and located an adult male victim in the alley who was unresponsive. Police discovered that the victim had sustained multiple stab wounds to the upper torso. The victim died at the scene from his injuries.

Police detectives executed a search warrant at a nearby residence believed to be linked to the homicide. We are seeking information from the public regarding the circumstances of the homicide and help in identifying any potential witnesses or suspects involved in the fatal stabbing.

The events leading up to the stabbing and any potential motives are still under investigation; however, it is being investigated as a gang motivated crime. No arrests have been made at this time.

The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification to the family.

VÍCTIMA APUÑALADA FATALMENTE EN ESCONDIDO

El 9 de junio, aproximadamente a las 7:54 p.m., el Centro de Comunicaciones de Escondido recibió una llamada de una víctima masculina en la cuadra de 500 W. 7th Ave., en Escondido. Una persona que llamó informó que parecía que la víctima había sido golpeada y una segunda persona que llamó informó que parecía que la víctima parecía estar fallecida. Los oficiales de policía llegaron a la escena y localizaron a un adulto de género masculino, en el callejón sin responder. La policía descubrió que la víctima había sufrido múltiples puñaladas en el torso superior. La víctima murió de sus heridas en la escena.

Los detectives de la policía ejecutaron una orden de registro en una residencia cercana que se cree que está vinculada al homicidio. Estamos buscando información del público sobre las circunstancias del homicidio y ayudar a identificar a los posibles testigos o sospechosos involucrados en el apuñalamiento mortal.

Los acontecimientos previos al apuñalamiento y cualquier motivo potencial, están bajo investigación; sin embargo, este caso está siendo investigado como un crimen relacionado a las pandillas. No se ha hecho ningún arresto.

El nombre de la víctima está siendo retenido a la espera de la notificación a la familia.
