Avoid the area of Belleville and Tyler Rds at 4:00pm until 6:30pm. Peaceful protest in the Parking Lot of Meijer Store 
A peaceful protest has been planned in the area of Belleville and Tyler roads to begin at 4:00pm today. A protest march from Meijer Store to the Van Buren Police station during this time is anticipated. Because of this protest and the numbers of people that may be attending, traffic in this area could be congested. Please plan for alternate routes and avoid this area until after 6:30pm this evening.
Van Buren Public Safety personnel will be in the area monitoring the situation for the duration of the protest.
The Township Municipal Complex will be closed today and the police lobby will be closed for foot traffic during the protest times listed above. Calls for police and fire service and response will not be disrupted. We apologize for any inconvenience during this time.
