On Tuesday, June 16th, the Pomona PD Special Investigations Unit seized 300+ pounds of fireworks. During the teams firework enforcement efforts, they came in contact with 2 people who were actively selling fireworks in the City of Pomona. Both persons were arrested and eventually released with a citation to appear in court at a later date.
ALL fireworks are illegal in the City of Pomona. The use of fireworks is not only dangerous to users but to others nearby, including homes and structures.
The Pomona Police Department will continue its operation and extra patrol efforts to seize and fine those in possession of fireworks. To report fireworks, please call 909-622-1241.
