Central Marin Police are investigating a fatal traffic collision that happened early this morning in Corte Madera

At 5:42 a.m. officers responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting a vehicle collision in the 1100 block of Meadowsweet Drive. They arrived to find a Mill Valley Refuse collection truck rolled over onto one side with the driver pinned beneath it. Central Marin Fire Department paramedics determined that the driver was dead and the Marin County Coroner responded to the scene. The regional office of California Occupational Safety and Health Administration (Cal/OSHA) was notified and an investigator is at the accident location.

The adult male driver was the only occupant of the truck and his identity will be provided later by the Coroner.

The Central Marin Police Traffic Unit is conducting the investigation. The 1100 block of Meadowsweet Drive was closed for several hours while the scene was processed and the truck righted.
