Vandalism to Larkspur’s sculpture on East Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. Can you help us to identify this man?
On Wednesday evening the 30-foot tall metal sculpture was vandalized. At about 8:50 p.m. witnesses saw a suspect crouched down and using some type of cutting tool on the base of the sculpture. The motion of the tool was giving off sparks and that initially drew the witnesses’ attention. Officers responded and searched the area but could not locate the suspect.
The sculpture was cut at the base of the flag standard on the west side of the piece. The dollar value of the vandalism damage is yet to be determined.
A photo of the suspect is attached. He is described as a white male adult with brown hair, wearing a dark shirt, shorts, and carrying a backpack. He was last seen walking west towards the Ferry terminal.
If you recognize the person in the photo or have any information about this crime please contact Corporal Cheryl Paris at 415-927-5150.
