**Update** Stallion Springs Police Investigate Shooting 3/26/2020.

On 6/17/2020, Stallion Springs Police Department completed a shooting investigation with three felony arrests.

On the early morning hours of 3/26/2020, Stallion Springs Police Officers received a call of a gunshot victim at a residence on Capot Court.  Officers discovered Levi Songer, age 20 of Tehachapi, inside of the residence and suffering from a gunshot wound from a small caliber firearm.  Songer was transported to the hospital in serious condition.  Two other subjects that were present at the home were identified as Richard Dearborn, age 30 from Tehachapi (Stallion Springs), and Emma Flynn, age 21, from Tehachapi. 

Officers began an investigation and eventually located a .22 caliber rifle hidden in a trailer next to the residence.  Later in the day, Officers determined the gun was stolen from a vehicle in Stallion Springs in the early morning hours prior to the reported shooting. 

Officers began interviews and investigated the crime scene.  Evidence showed Songer had been shot in the backseat  of a vehicle that was parked in front of the residence.  Officers completed the investigation and submitted the report to the Kern County District Attorney’s Office for charges against the three involved subjects.  Warrants were then issued for the arrest for Songer, Dearborn, and Flynn.

Dearborn was located and was placed in custody for his arrest warrant with the following charges:

  1. PC 135 – Concealing, destroying evidence
  2. PC 29825(a)- Possession of firearm while being the subject of a domestic violence restraining order
  3. PC  487(d)     - Theft of firearm
  4. PC 488 – Theft
  5. PC 496(a)-Receive stolen property
  6. PC 32- Accessory to crime
  7. PC 148.5(b)- File false police report
  8. PC  182(a)(1)- Conspiracy to commit crime
Flynn was arrested for her arrest warrant with the following charges:                                                    
  1. PC   29800(a)(1) -    Felon in possession of a firearm
  2. PC    487(d) – Theft of Firearm
  3. PC 30305(a)(1)-Felon in possession of ammunition
  4. PC 32 – Accessory to crime
  5. PC 148.5(b)- Filing false police report
  6. PC 148(a)(1)-Obstruct Peace Officer
  7. PC 496(a)-Receive stolen property
  8. PC 488 – Petty Theft
  9. PC 135 – Conceal, destroy evidence
Songer was arrested on 6-17-2020 for his warrant for the following charges:
  1. PC 29800(a)(1) Possession of Firearm by felon.
  2.  PC 30305(a)(1) Possession of ammunition by felon.
  3.  PC 246.3 Negligent discharge of firearm.
  4.  PC 487(d) Theft of firearm.
  5. PC 488 Theft.
  6. PC 496(a) Possession of stolen property.
  7. PC 148.5(b) Filing a false police report.
