New AMHS Passenger Protocols
On June 21, the State of Alaska Department of Transportation issued a press release announcing protocols for travelers on the Alaska Marine Highway Ferry System. One of the new requirements is for all passengers (over the age of 2) on the mainline ferries Kennicott, Matanuska and Tustumena to provide a negative COVID-19 test result within 72 hours before boarding.
There is misinformation currently circulating that these pre-travel tests are being done through Creekside Clinic for a cost of $30. This information is not correct.
The EOC is currently working with the State of Alaska for further clarification on where people can obtain their pre-travel tests. For the time being, please contact your health care provider or visit the Alaska testing site locator at: https://coronavirus-response-alaska-dhss.hub.arcgis.com/app/2d92b77bc8044329a1ee3954b063bd8c
Additional information will be provided on this page when it is received from the State of Alaska.
