REMINDER: Fireworks are Illegal in Contra Costa 
It's that time of year again, and we are already beginning to receive reports of fireworks being lit off in neighborhoods. We would like to remind you that fireworks are not allowed in Contra Costa County.
Because of the dry conditions in the area and the increased wildfire risk, using fireworks poses a significant risk of an accidental fire.
Additionally, the noise of the fireworks (especially late at night) can be very upsetting for children and animals.
We recognize that fireworks are generally considered a part of the July 4 holiday, but we ask residents to refrain from setting them off.
