Wear a face mask or face-covering in public when social distancing (staying at least 6 feet apart) is not possible

The Town has received unconfirmed reports about new cases of COVID-19, spreading among young adults in our community. We have contacted the County to ensure that the appropriate steps are taken concerning contact tracing and isolation protocols, if necessary.

We want to remind everyone that the Executive Orders requiring New Yorkers to wear masks are still in effect. You must wear a face mask or face-covering in public when social distancing (staying at least 6 feet apart) is not possible. This includes public transportation, in stores, and on crowded sidewalks. Children over 2 years of age should also wear a face mask in public. The best way to prevent COVID-19 is to continue social distancing (staying at least 6 feet away from others), even when wearing a face covering.

Need a refresher on masks? Check out this resource from the New York State Department of Health: https://coronavirus.health.ny.gov/system/files/documents/2020/05/13105_covid-19_facemasks_flyer_050420.pdf.

When you follow these guidelines you show respect for your neighbors, and you help stop the spread of the virus. Thank you for doing your part to defeat this virus.
