On June 22, 2020, the Kern County Sheriff’s Office reached an agreement with Kern County Detentions Officer Association (KCDOA) to begin random drug testing for employees. This agreement allows the Kern County Sheriff’s Office to randomly test 3% of employees twice a year. KCDOA now joins the Kern Law Enforcement Association and the Kern County Sheriff’s Command Association in participating in the random drug testing, which began in 2018.
