...Potentially Heavy Rainfall Tonight Through Tuesday Night... The National Weather Service in Lincoln has expanded the

* Flash Flood Watch to include portions of central Illinois and southeast Illinois, including the following areas, in central Illinois, Shelby. In southeast Illinois, Clay, Effingham, Jasper, and Richland.

* Through Wednesday morning

* Rainfall of 1 to 2 inches expected with locally higher amounts possible

* Heavy rainfall may result in flooding of low lying and poor drainage areas, small streams, and urban areas. Rises on larger streams and rivers will also be possible.

* AFFECTED AREAS: CLAY ... RICHLAND ... EFFINGHAM ... SHELBY ... JASPER

Instructions:

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
