Call for service 
Our patrol officers recently responded to a call for service in which a Hispanic man in his mid-40’s was going through a crisis and wanted to end his life. He and his wife were having marital problems. The man’s wife told us there were guns in the home.
Our crisis negotiators and patrol officers were able to de-escalate the situation. They talked the man through the crisis, and he walked out peacefully from a home where two rifles were found inside. The man admitted that he was thinking about ending his life, so he was taken to the hospital to be further evaluated.
Our goal is for all incidents to end safely and without incident.
