Advisory

SUBJECT: Fireworks and Noise Ordinance Violations

DATE/TIME: Wednesday July 1st 2020

LOCATION: Ocean Township, New Jersey

NARRATIVE:

With the 4th of July weekend approaching the Township of Ocean Police Department urges all residents and visitors to be mindful of the use of fireworks. With the broadened legality of certain types of fireworks, we have seen an increase in their use. This has also given way to an increase of noise violations being reported by Township residents. Please be mindful of fireworks use at times contrary to the Township Noise Ordinances (restrictions 11 pm to 8 am) and at ANY OTHER time where they may be excessive in use and cause annoyance or alarm to your neighbors. This can occur anytime throughout the day.
Below is a link with further information regarding fireworks including their safe use. Please be advised the Township of Ocean Police Department will be actively enforcing all noise ordinance violations as well any criminal violations pertaining to the illegal use of fireworks.
