MPD is conducting undercover investigations into the possession & sales of illegal fireworks 
In an effort to identify and enforce illegal firework activity in the City of Montebello, Investigators from the Montebello Police Department conducted several undercover investigations into the selling and purchasing of illegal fireworks.
As a result of these investigations, several hundred dollars of illegal fireworks were seized and several individuals were cited for the sales of illegal fireworks. The Montebello Police Department will aggressively seek prosecution of any individual using, possessing, purchasing, or selling illegal fireworks in the City.
Our investigators are continuing their efforts throughout the holiday weekend to combat the sales and use of illegal fireworks in our city. Due to the difficulty of identifying users of illegal fireworks our investigators will be in the community in both marked and unmarked (undercover) police vehicles. Anyone with information of illegal firework activity is urged to call the Montebello Police Department at (323) 887-1313.
