The Truckee Area is in HIGH Fire Danger. 95% of wildfires are started by people - so we all need to be extra vigilant.
Campfire and Charcoal Ban. The regional ordinance went into affect on June 15 and will last until sometime in November. This ban restricts wood burning campfires and charcoal BBQs but allows Gas fire pits and Gas BBQs (Propane and Natural Gas). Campgrounds are exempt and some commercial operations are allowed. No Fireworks. Fireworks of any kind are illegal in the area.
Flyover. You should expect concentrated air traffic overhead with vintage WWll aircraft conducting an Honor Flyover celebrating our Nation's Independence and Frontline COVID workers, Saturday, July 4th from 10:30am-12:30pm.
