INCIDENT: PC 311.11 (A) possession of Child Pornography, PC 311.1 Distribution of Child Pornography and PC 311.3 Manufacturing of Child Pornography
LOCATION: City of Big Bear
SUSPECT: James Von Eps, 46 years old, resident of Big Bear
SUMMARY:
Investigators from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, Crimes Against Children Detail (CAC), began an investigation into cyber tips that were reported by an Electronic Service Provider (ESP). The cyber tips contained various images of child pornography. Through investigation, investigators determined the child pornography was downloaded, distributed and manufactured at a home in Big Bear.
On Thursday, July 2, 2020, personnel from CAC and San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Big Bear Station, served a search warrant at a residence in the 41000 block of Switzerland Drive, in Big Bear. Investigators contacted James Von Eps at the residence. At the end the investigation, Von Eps was arrested for possession of child pornography, distribution of child pornography and manufacturing of child pornography. Von Eps was subsequently booked into Central Detention Center and bail was set at $100,000.
