Fremont and Alameda County firefighters, and Eagle 6, the East Bay Regional Parks helicopter are at the scene of a vegetation fire off of Patterson Ranch Road in the area of the salt flats at the Alameda Creek Trail, northwest of the Coyote Hills Regional Park.
The fire is 39 acres.
Due to the wind, residual smoke is traveling throughout the Fremont, Union City and Newark (Tri-City) area.
Firefighters will remain at the scene throughout the evening until the fire is contained.
