On July 7, 2020, at 3:24 p.m., the Kern County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) received a report of a peace disturbance; then shots fired in the 700-block of Bernard Street. When deputies arrived, they located Andrew Anaya (44-years-old) inside of the house. Andrew Anaya was a victim of multiple gunshot wounds and he died from his injuries at the scene.
Detectives responded to the scene and learned numerous eyewitnesses did not wait for law enforcement to arrive. Detectives would like to identify and speak to anyone who witnessed the incident.
