Safety Notification - Possible Coyote at Moraga Commons Park Today
This is a community notification as a safety precaution due to a reported coyote encounter today at the Moraga Commons Park. In the parking lot near the Moraga Commons restrooms, a small child was bitten on the leg by an animal that was reported to be a coyote. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife was notified and is investigating the incident. We will provide more information when it becomes available.
Please see the attached safety material from Fish and Wildlife about coyote precautions. Be mindful of small children and pets, and if you see a coyote in or around the park, stay away and contact Moraga Police at 925-284-5010 or dial 9-1-1.
