Hazardous Weather Discussion

Heavy rain and gusty winds resulting from TS Fay are forecast for Friday. A Tropical Storm Warning is posted for Cape May, Atlantic, SE Burlington, Ocean, Monmouth, Middlesex, Essex, Union, and Hudson Counties. A Flash Flood Watch is posted statewide Friday. Flash Flood Warnings may be posted as heavy rainfall moves from south to north throughout the day. Coastal winds may gust over 45 mph.

Heavy rainfall may result in localized flooding in urban areas, low-lying places, locations with poor drainage, on roadways, where rainfall is heaviest, and small waterways. Gusty winds Friday may cause localized power outages and minor tree damage. Secure items outdoors that may be susceptible to wind gusts. Monitor local weather forecasts today for updates.
