Wilfred Ledesma, a convicted felon, was arrested during a traffic stop for possession of a handgun

SUSPECT: Wilfred Ledesma, 36 years old, resident of Rialto
SUMMARY:
On July 7, 2020, at 9:58 a.m., deputies from the Sheriff’s Central Station, assigned to the San Manuel Casino, conducted a traffic stop on a white Kia Optima in violation of California Vehicle Code 4000 (a)(1), Expired Registration. Deputies contacted the driver, who was identified as Wilfred Ledesma. During the investigation, Ledesma said he had a handgun underneath the driver seat of the vehicle and he was detained while deputies located a black 9mm caliber semi-automatic handgun. The handgun was unregistered, did not have a serial number, and it is considered an untraceable handgun. Ledesma is a convicted felon and it is unlawful for him to possess a firearm. Ledesma was arrested for PC 29800 (a)(1), Felon in Possession of a Firearm. He was booked at West Valley Detention Center and is being held on $50,000 bail.
A credit card skimmer along with several blank cards that are commonly used to make fraudulent credit cards were located inside of Ledesma’s vehicle. An investigation regarding possible credit card fraud is ongoing.
