Advisory

Felony OWI 4th Offense

The Middleton Police Department arrested 66-year-old Stephanie Adams of Middleton for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol or Drugs—Fourth Offense, a felony.

On Sunday, July 12, 2020 at approximately 11:00pm, a park ranger at Mendota County Park reported that an unwanted intoxicated female was creating a disturbance and throwing bottles.

A short time later, a Middleton police officer saw Adams driving a vehicle that matched the description given by the ranger. Adams was weaving in and out of her lane while driving on Century Avenue in Middleton. After stopping Adams, the officer smelled the odor of intoxicants on Adams and also saw empty malt liquor bottles in her car. Adams told officers that she had taken prescription medications in addition to the alcohol she had been drinking.

After Adams performed Field Sobriety Tests, she was arrested for OWI. Adams provided a blood sample which will be sent to the Wisconsin State Crime Lab for analysis. The prohibited alcohol content in Wisconsin is .08.

Adams was booked into the Dane County Jail for OWI—4th Offense.
