Deputies Arrest Identity Theft Suspects in La Cañada Flintridge.
On Sunday July 12th at approximately 4:01 AM, Crescenta Valley Station received a call from a witness who saw someone in a vehicle stealing mail. He saw the silver Kia Forte drive away from the 4600 block of Alveo Road, La Cañada Flintridge.
Deputies searched the area and located a vehicle that matched the description on Viro Road. They initiated a traffic stop and contacted the two occupants of the vehicle. During their investigation, Deputies located numerous pieces of mail, personal identifying information of many victims, suspected narcotics, and paraphernalia. The suspects were arrested for identity theft, mail theft, possession of narcotics, and conspiracy.
Crescenta Valley Station would like to remind everyone to check your mail box each day and retrieve the contents. Criminals will often attempt to steal mail during the late evening or early morning hours to avoid detection. The suspects will then use the stolen mail to commit identity theft or forgery. If you witness any suspicious activity, call Crescenta Valley Station at 818-248-3464. If it is a life threatening emergency, call 911. Without the help from the community, the suspects in this incident may have fled the scene before Deputies could arrive.
