The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... Clay County in west central Missouri... Southern Clinton County in northwestern Missouri... Platte County in west central Missouri...

* Until 915 AM CDT.

* At 611 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. 3 to 4 inches of rain has already fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage and low lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Kansas City, Leavenworth, Liberty, Gladstone, Excelsior Springs, Smithville, Kearney, Parkville, Platte City, Lawson, Weatherby Lake, Weston, Pleasant Valley, Lake Waukomis, Trimble, Edgerton, Dearborn, Camden Point, Ferrelview and Holt.

* AFFECTED AREAS: PLATTE, MO ... CLAY, MO ... CLINTON, MO
