On July 14, 2020, the New Castle Town Board unanimously approved the local law to require face masks or face-coverings.  The law requires everyone wear a face mask or face-covering when unable to maintain a distance of six feet from another person, who is not a member of the same household, at all times in the Town of New Castle.  

The law includes exemptions and provides the ability to apply for an exemption not already included in the law.  

The overwhelming majority of Town residents are wearing masks or face-coverings when social distancing is not possible, and have been voluntarily compliant when approached and provided education by our Officers.  If you have not been adhering to the Governors’ Executive Orders regarding face-coverings, please do so going forward.  The last thing we want to do is issue you a summons.
