KCSO responds to drowning at Hart Park
On July 18, 2020, at 6:20 p.m., the Kern County Sheriff's Office received two calls of a possible drowning at Hart Park. The reporting parties reported a 14 year old female was last seen on the east side of Hart Park in the Kern River. Deputies responded along with Search and Rescue, Air Support and the Bakersfield Fire Department. At approximately 6:50 p.m., the missing juvenile was located downstream, under water, by subjects who were playing in the water. They pulled her out of the water and began CPR. They were able to flag down the KCSO Air Unit, who directed deputies and medical aid to their location. Medical aid responded and transported the female to a local hospital where she was declared deceased.
