Meridian Police Host School Supply Drive, Preparing for New School Year Needs

As Fall 2020 school year fast approaches, the Meridian Police Employee Association (MPEA) is doing their part preparing for the needs of community members by hosting a school supply drive.

MPEA is made up of Meridian Police Department’s employees, with the mission of giving back to the Meridian community and helping those that protect it. MPEA is a (501c3) organization, focused on outreach in and around the Meridian community, while supporting first responders statewide.

This school supply drive will run July 20th through August 14th, 2020 and all supplies donated will be used to benefit Meridian youth in need.

“COVID-19 adds another set of challenges for Meridian families as they prepare for this next school year,” said MPEA Vice-President Sergeant Gonzales, “There are a lot of additional considerations for Meridian families and our School Resource Officers want to be a resource, providing free school supplies to kids within their schools as needed.”

Supplies can be dropped off at either location, Monday through Friday 8AM-5PM:
  • Meridian Police Department, 1401 E. Watertower St, Meridian, ID 83642
  • Meridian City Hall, 33 E. Broadway Ave, Meridian, ID 83642
Designated bins will be in each location's lobby, ready for donations. Monetary donations can also be accepted at the Meridian Police Department and through PayPal using [email protected]. Please notate within PayPal that the donation is for MPEA’s School Supply Drive.

“Our goal with this school supply drive is to help those in need,” said MPEA President Corporal Wilson, “We know these are difficult times for everyone, hopefully providing school supplies will lessen the burden on the families we serve.”
