The Town of Boxborough is working with the Boxborough Regency Hotel to provide a cooling center to Town residents during the current heatwave. Utilization of the Regency provides for safe social distancing during the Covid-19 pandemic and extended hours.

Beginning Monday at 11 AM, the Regency Hotel has generously offered a free location for residents to cool off. The Regency has asked that all interested residents please check-in with the front desk upon arrival. From 7 AM-8 PM, residents will be able to sit within the air-conditioned Minuteman Grille. There is plenty of seating in the restaurant where tables are spaced six feet apart consistent with social distancing guidelines. During the night/overnight, the hotel will accommodate residents in the lobby. If additional space is needed, the hotel is able to expand to other areas within the building. Residents are asked to continue to comply with the State's current COVID-19 protocols to limit the spread of the disease, which includes the wearing of face masks both for outdoors and indoor spaces when social distancing is not possible.

The Regency is additionally offering a special “heatwave” rate of $50.00 per night plus tax for Boxborough residents. Residents can use the room for the day and/or stay overnight. The hotel can also accommodate a late checkout the following day of 4:00 pm.

Lastly, the Regency is offering a 20% discount on food from the Minuteman Grille. The 20% food discount can be used for take-out, room service, and dining in the restaurant or the tent. In order to receive the above discounts today through Thursday, residents should identify themselves as Boxborough residents or mention the “heatwave” special for Boxborough residents.
