A call for a vegetation fire on the West side of Hacienda Road, South of the Hacienda/Skyline intersection, came in around 5:30pm. The vegetation fire moved slowly and burned a total of 2 acres. One home was potentially threatened, but fire crews were able to keep the home safe. At approximately 7:15 pm, the fire was 100% contained. The incident command center was located at the Park. All LA County Fire units have now been released. LHHFD and Downey will remain on scene for mop up and fire watch. Hacienda Road is now open in both directions, but the City is asking for residents to keep the fire area clear to allow fire crews to work for the next several hours. This was a great coordinated effort by LHHFD, LA County Fire, LASD, our Area E partners - Downey, Santa Fe Springs and Vernon - La Habra PD, and our City Staff.
