The Public Safety Department has been made aware that there is a March which is scheduled to begin today at 5 p.m. The event is set to begin at the L.A Fitness parking lot located at Harper and 8 Mile Rd.

The Public Safety Department would like to recommend that residents avoid Harper Avenue, Vernier Avenue and Eight Mile Road during this time to limit traffic congestion and to ensure the safety of all participating in the march.

The Public Safety Department also recommends that motorists turn off onto a side street, if the march is observed in progress, in front of your path of travel. Again, this is to ensure the safety of all participating in the march, motorists in the area, and to limit traffic congestion.

The Public Safety Department supports the First Amendment protection afforded to the right to Freedom of Speech. We ask that residents also support the right to free speech. Please respect and do not engage with the marchers if you have a differing opinion.
