Hurricane Isaias approaching Flagler County, preparatory actions must be completed today.

All Flagler County residents should complete their preparations Saturday in advance of the hurricane's arrival on Sunday. These preparations should include a 7-day disaster supply kit and the securing of loose outdoor items, such as patio furniture. Tropical Storm conditions are expected to be in our area Sunday evening through Monday morning, primarily east of I-95 Likely impacts include winds of up to 60 miles per hour with storm surge of 3-4 feet with beach erosion on the Atlantic Coast and 2-3 feet on property along the intracoastal waterway. Additionally, some power outages, tree damage, and property damage is to be expected. If your home is on the barrier island or the along the intracoastal waterway AND you are in a flood prone area or manufactured home, please be prepared tonight, for a potential evacuation order on Sunday, August 2nd. Additionally, all barrier island residents with electrically dependent special medical needs should also be prepared to evacuate. We encourage all residents to have an evacuation plan that relies on staying with friends or family; or at a hotel outside of the area being evacuated. If your evacuation plan will take you out of Flagler County, your should leave today. Once an evacuation order is issued, a public shelter will be made available.
