Tropical storm Isaias update. Please click on the link for more information.
The Little Egg Harbor Township Office of Emergency Management continues to closely monitor the Tropical Storm Isaias situation. It appears that this area will begin to experience impacts as early as this evening which will include very heavy rains and strong winds. We can also expect at least some coastal flooding, so residents should expect and prepare (food medicine, etc.) for a period of immobility that may continue for several days. They should also consider moving vehicles and mobile assets to higher ground. We have collaborated with the County of Ocean which has agreed to allow residents to park their vehicles at the Freedom Fields facilities on North Green Street. There is more than adequate parking at that venue but residents should consider moving sooner than later to the deteriorating conditions we expect this evening. We do not anticipate having to open sheltering facilities and, instead, will recommend sheltering in place for the duration of this event. Those with special needs or concerns can call the Little Egg Harbor Township Police Department at (609)296-3666 x 100.
Thank you,
Chief Rich Buzby
Little Egg Harbor Emergency Management Director
