The National Weather Service has issued a Tropical Storm Warning and Flash Flood Watch for the area.

The National Weather Service has issued a Tropical Storm Warning for our area until further notice, and a Flash Flood Watch has been posted beginning 6:00AM on Tuesday. Tropical Storm Isaias is expected to bring winds up to 35-45 MPH, with gusts potentially reaching 60MPH. A total of 2-4 inches of rain will be possible, with locally higher amounts between 4-6 inches. 


The Westfield Police and Fire Departments are closely monitoring the storm, and the Department of Public Works has been preparing by clearing storm drains of known problem areas. In addition, the Downtown Westfield Corporation has advised all businesses to dismantle all outdoor dining items in anticipation of high winds.

PSE&G has advised that they are preparing for the possibility of extensive damage and extended power outages across the area. Updated information about outages is available on PSE&G website: https://outagecenter.pseg.com/. Other local utilities can be reached at the following numbers: 


Residents are reminded to take the following precautions:
  • Charge all phones and devices this evening.
  • Secure outdoor furniture and garbage/recycling bins.
  • Do not approach downed wires.
