Abbot Road Construction/Closures 
Motorists are advised that the road construction project on Abbot Road, from Burcham Drive to just south of Elizabeth Street, will resume on Wednesday, Aug. 5.
The roadway, including the Abbot-Burcham intersection, will be closed to through and turning traffic, but will remain open to local traffic (motorists who reside within the construction area). It is expected that this closure will be in place for approximately one week, weather permitting. Motorists are advised to follow the posted detours, which will be from Saginaw Street to Harrison Road to Grand River Avenue.
The scope of the work for this project includes removing and replacing curbs at various locations and milling and repaving the roadway with new asphalt.
