08-05-2020: A new message from Westport Human Services
Emergency Registry message: 8/5/2020
This is a courtesy call from Westport’s Department of Human Services.
You are receiving this message because you, or a loved one, are registered with the Department of Human Services as a resident who may require special assistance in cases of emergency.
Most, if not all, of Westport is without power at this time. The Emergency Management Team anticipates that clean up and restoration will take multiple days. Please practice patience as we are all doing the best we can under the circumstances.
By now, you should have received an update from the Town’s Emergency Operations Center reminding residents to remain safe at home to allow for an expedient and safe clean up. Due to COVID-19, Westport will not be opening cooling centers, charging stations, or emergency shelters at this time. Your health and safety is important to us.
If you require non-emergency assistance, please contact a friend, relative or neighbor. Human Services staff is available Mondays through Fridays from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm by calling 203-341-1050. We will do our best to provide information and resources to help you navigate any challenges that you are experiencing. Everyone has been effected by the storm so please rely on your natural supports to ask for help as needed. The Emergency Team is working as quickly as possible.
After 4:30pm, residents can call the CT information hotline by dialing 211 or go to www.211ct.org for support.
Please only call 911 for true medical emergencies.
