JCP&L continues to restore service to customers following Tropical Storm Isaias.

Nearly 5,000 utility personnel are supporting restoration efforts in JCP&L’s service territory. Approximately 1,300 additional external line workers are expected to arrive over the next two days to bolster JCP&L in its restoration efforts. Five staging sites have been established, three in the Central Region and two in the Northern Region. Personnel are travelling to assist JCP&L in restoration from the following states: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia.

Approximately 732,000 customers in Northern and Central New Jersey lost power due to the storm, and 481,000 remain without service. JCP&L has restored service to approximately 251,000 customers. Hardest hit areas include Monmouth, Ocean and Morris counties. Estimated restoration times will be established as damage assessment progresses.

The safety of the public and workers is the main focus, and JCP&L has responded to 480 safety hazards while continuing to clear debris and downed trees and other debris to keep the public safe. Ice and water has been activated at various locations across the service territory.

JCP&L expects to restore the majority of customers by Tuesday August 11 at 11:00 PM. ETRs will continue to be updated as additional damage information is gathered and orders are dispatched.
