East Windsor Township Update on Power Outages and Road Closures within Township.

August 8, 2020 at 5 P.M.

TROPICAL STORM ISAIAS UPDATE

Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Township officials have continued reaching out pro-actively, directly and continuously to JCP&L as well as the Governor's office, New Jersey legislators, and Mercer County Office of Emergency Management, seeking updated information and power restoration action. Mayor Mironov has been in regular communication directly with the President of JCP&L seeking the expedited restoration of power to the remaining homes in our community and expected improvements regarding the status and timelines to remedy outage conditions.

As of this morning, ALL East Township roadways previously closed due to storm related issues are now open.

JCP&L UPDATES: According to JCP&L, electrical service has been restored to approximately 5,725 homes since storm damage that left sustained power outages for 5,900 households in the Township. Approximately 175 homes remain without power as of 5 P.M. today. JCP&L work crews currently are in town continuing to address power outage issues. Mayor Mironov had further conversations today, August 8, with the President and executive leadership of JCP&L, who assured the Township that they would continue to work actively through today and tomorrow Sunday, "with the expected goal that by the end of the day Sunday, August 9, all homes would have power restored, with the possible exception of a few stragglers experiencing unusual difficulty." Mayor Mironov will remain in direct communication with the JCP&L President to resolve all remaining power issues in East Windsor Township.
