This is an update to earlier ReadyKern notifications regarding the Stagecoach Fire near Caliente. Previous ReadyKern messages provided detail about areas under recommended evacuation. THIS MESSAGE UPDATES THAT INFORMATION. EFFECTIVE 11:00 A.M. TODAY, AUGUST 12TH, THE FOLLOWING EVACUATION WAS LIFTED: THOMPSON CANYON (AREA 2B): CALIENTE BODFISH RD EAST TO PIUTE MOUNTAIN RD, FROM THE AREA SOUTH OF SCHOOL ST TO JUST SOUTH OF HERITAGE WAY. THERE ARE NO EVACUATIONS IN PLACE FOR THE AREA AFFECTED BY THE STAGECOACH FIRE AT THIS TIME. IN ADDITION, THE ROAD CLOSURE AFFECTING THOMPSON CANYON RD EAST OF THE CATTLE GUARD, APPROXIMATELY 1/4 MILE EAST OF GOSSIP ROCK, HAS BEEN LIFTED. Fire Department staff, vehicles, and equipment remain in the area. Residents should exercise caution around them.
