COVID-19 Message from Old Tappan

Old Tappan has seen a spike in COVID-19 cases in teens and young adults.

The numbers across NJ have steadily declined as our testing capacity and vigilance have increased. During the last few weeks, however, COVID-19 cases have started to rise across the state, with some spikes in the younger population in particular.

Many people think those who are younger are immune or exhibit only mild symptoms. That may be the case with some, but it is not true for all. Additionally, COVID-19 can significantly affect family members or friends who have medical issues, causing severe illness or even death. Not to mention they can spread the virus to other people while not showing any symptoms themselves.

Parents/Guardians, please talk to the younger people in your home and stress the point that we all need to continue to be responsible. Wear face coverings, practice social distancing, and limit gatherings with others at this time. Let us all continue to do our part to stay safe and healthy.
