The California ISO is projecting peak megawatt usage today to be at 49,718mw and the available capacity to be at 45,533mw, nearly 6,000mw short.  This may result in the ISO ordering power shut offs.  Further information can be found on the California ISO web site at http://www.caiso.com/TodaysOutlook/Pages/default.aspx.  
You can also download their app “ISO Today” and create alerts for possible rotating power outages.
