Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Community Outreach
The Well-Armed Women (TWAW)- Mother Lode Chapter Meeting
*Prior to the meeting, the Sheriff’s Office had a lengthy discussion with TWAW coordinators to ensure precautions were in place to ensure social distancing was respected. When social distancing was not possible, masks were to be utilized.
The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office was asked to attend “The Well-Armed Women’s” (Mother Lode Chapter) meeting on August 15th, 2020 at an outdoor venue in the Valley Springs area. TWAW wanted deputies to give a presentation and share some dialogue regarding how to keep it’s members safe, in addition to updating TWAW members on what the Sheriff’s Office is doing to increase safety in the community. Several topics were covered including new descalation training, firearms safety and the focus, duties and progress made by our Special Enforcement Team.
The Sheriff’s Office strives to continue work with our citizens on the importance of community oriented policing to enhance the overall safety of our community. The Sheriff’s Office would like to thank membership for their hospitality and support.
