As many community members already know, there are several fires in the Bay Area, including in the northwest part of Sonoma County.
 
We want to reassure the community that at this time, there is no fire threat to Petaluma.
 
However, the City of Petaluma is responding to this regional emergency in several ways. We have sent Police and Fire personnel to assist with evacuations and fire fighting. We have also opened our Emergency Operations Center so that we are prepared to open evacuation centers or provide other support to the County if needed. Throughout the day, we will be working closely with local partners, such as Petaluma People Services Center, to assess the situation and ramp up if needed.
