In order to accommodate outdoor dining and retailer merchandise in the downtown corridor, the City is implementing Open Streets Los Altos, a partial shutdown of downtown every Thursday-Monday through 9/28/20 allowing for pedestrian-only access.

The closure will take place on the following streets:

• Main Street from First to Second
• Main Street from Second to Third
• State Street from Second to Third
• Fourth Street between Pompeii and Wells Fargo (Friday-Sunday)

The numbered streets (First, Second and Third) will remain open to vehicular traffic. The plazas will remain open to allow for parking. We suggest parking in the plazas or utilizing the pick-up and drop-off locations conveniently located on First, Second, and Third Streets. Additionally, there is ADA street accessible parking and bike parking for easy access and convenience.

We would like to remind residents that face coverings are required on the closed streets except when eating or drinking and those under the age of two. 

Our downtown businesses are open and ready to serve you. Retailers are now open until 8PM on Fridays. If you're unsure if a downtown business is open, we urge you to contact them directly or visit https://whatsopenlosaltos.org.
