Important Announcement from the Community Warning System
We have been asked why the CWS system changed its phone number at a time when the CWS is so critical. The number was changed because there was a change in FCC rules, which would have caused calls from the system to be rejected and/or undeliverable if reported as coming from 0000000000. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me. Please include this in your external communications where possible or as a response to any inquiries.
The Contra Costa County Community Warning System (CWS) has changed the Caller ID used to issue alerts.
Old Caller ID: 000-000-0000
NEW CALLER ID: 925-655-0195
To make sure you pick up a CWS alert:
1. Add this number as a new contact in your mobile device and label it “Community Warning System”
2. Assign or add this new contact to your FAVORITES or EMERGENCY BYPASS. See instructions below.
Taking these steps should stop calls from being identified as Spam or silenced by the Do Not Disturb feature on your phone. For more information about the Community Warning System visit:

Step 1: Go to Contacts -> Select Contact (Community Warning System)
Step 2: Got to Edit -> Ringtone -> Select Emergency Bypass toggle button -> Done
DIRECTIONS FOR ANDROID:
Step 1: Go to Contacts -> Select Contact (Community Warning System) -> Add to Favorites
Step 2: Go to Settings -> Notification –> Do Not Disturb -> Allow Exceptions -> Calls From -> Favorite Contacts Only
